Clapping Games

“A Sailor Went to Sea” is a children’s nursery rhyme, clapping game and jump-rope rhyme. It was initially called “My Father Went to Sea”, before becoming more widely known as “A Sailor Went to Sea”.

“Down Down Baby” is a clapping game played by children in English-speaking countries. In the game, two or more children stand in a circle, and clap hands in tune to a rhyming song. As with most hand-clapping games, there are many variations.

“Miss Mary Mack” (“Mary Mack”) is a clapping game played by children in English-speaking countries. It is known in various parts of the United States, Australia, Canada, and in New Zealand and has been called “the most common hand-clapping game in the English-speaking world”.
